I've updated all my drivers (uninstalled and reinstalled the ones taht were already updated), and tried everythign I could find online to fix it, but I have had no luck.

When you plug the Rocksmith guitar cable into a Windows PC it shows up as a USB microphone. I fixed this problem by going into my speaker properties in windows and turning off exclusive control. It won't, however, translate to MIDI notes or anything fancy like that. You should be able to adjust the most important audio settings inside Rocksmith itself. The later ones (usb 2 I think) have straightened this out. I was wondering if anyone else had the issue, and what they did to fix it. It appears to be some kind of hardware/software conflict when this occurs. If using an Electric guitar or an acoustic with a pickup, using the Realtone cable is the best and suppported method.
